The Trump household was virtually the one individual within the debate who wasn't carrying masks

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) attended the first presidential debate, saying that the Trump family and their enablers were the only participants who did not wear masks.

Rep. Ryan said on MSNBC:

All the Biden people and everyone who wasn't the Trump family, we all had masks on and right before the family came in none of them had a mask on and later Melania came in, she had no mask on. It's a moment when you roll your eyes. We hope the president is fine. It's like the rules don't apply to these people. They don't pay their taxes. You don't wear a mask. Nobody is held accountable and it is just so irresponsible.

This was done by the Cleveland Clinic. We weren't in a bar or anywhere else but were hosted by Case Western Reserve and the Cleveland Clinic. They came in without a mask. . A level of arrogance that you rarely see.

Rep. Ryan missed White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Rep. Jim Jordan, who were also not wearing masks:

The Trump crew showed up wearing masks but took them off as soon as they sat down.

Rep. Ryan's general point was correct. The only people in the debate who were not wearing masks were in the debate to support Trump. The Trump COVID outbreak makes it clear that one of the main reasons the nation cannot get the coronavirus under control is because Trump and his supporters arrogantly feel justified in breaking the rules and endangering public health.
