Donald Trump's rally in Georgia on Friday night turned racist when the state's Republican Senator David Perdue, who ran in a competitive re-election campaign, unleashed a sickening attack on Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris by knowingly mispronouncing and mocking her name.
It came when the Georgia Senator was beating various Democratic leaders, including Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren.
"The most insidious thing Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden try to immortalize, and Bernie (Sanders) and Elizabeth (Warren) and Kamala – Kah-ma-la or Kah-mah-la or Kamala-mala-mala – I don't know whatever, ”Senator Perdue said on USA TODAY.
Then-Sen. George Allen, 2006: "Macaca or whatever it's name."

In response to the immediate backlash, Senator Perdue essentially hid behind a statement by his communications director who claimed that the Senator "simply mispronounced Senator Harris' name and meant nothing".
Senator Perdue simply mispronounced Senator Harris' name and meant nothing. He argued against the radical socialist agenda that she and her advocate candidate Jon Ossoff are pushing, including the Green New Deal … (1/2) #GASen #gapol

The response to the Perdue campaign is, of course, ridiculous. All voters have to do is roll the tape to understand exactly what the Republican senator did.
MSNBC's Kyle Griffin said on Twitter, “Senator Perdue should apologize. He shouldn't have cover from a communications agent with an obvious lie. He didn't just pronounce Harris' name. It was on purpose. And it was racist. "
It should also be noted that Perdue has been with Kamala Harris in the US Senate for the past four years and sits with her on the Senate Budget Committee. He knows how to pronounce her name.
This was nothing more than racist thinking from a politician who knew it would fuel the MAGA crowd in Georgia.
