Donald Trump's presidential campaign has again urged the Supreme Court to block the postal ballot game in North Carolina after failing to put it down in the U.S. federal appeals court.
Trump calls on the Supreme Court to intervene
According to Reuters, Trump is determined to block North Carolina in the state's plan to count postal ballot papers that arrive after election day on November 3rd. It did so after the Trump campaign suffered a defeat last week when the U.S. federal appeals court put the plan into effect in North Carolina.
The 4th U.S. Court of Appeals ruled 12-3 last Tuesday to reject the Trump campaign's request to prevent the North Carolina state electoral authority from counting postmarked ballots by November 3rd that were received before November 12th. November arrives with the North Carolina Republican Party to argue in court that the plan violates the state's electoral code.
The Trump campaign sent a file to the Supreme Court on Sunday calling for the plan to be halted.
"A restraining order is urgently needed to ensure that our federal elections are governed by the statutes of duly elected representatives and not the whims of an unelected government agency," the Trump campaign wrote on the file.

Democrats fire back
Fourteen Generals of the Democratic Attorney General and Karl Racine of Washington, DC, spoke out in a letter from a court friend on Monday to urge the Supreme Court to reject Trump's motion. They argued that the new North Carolina deadline was a reasonable accommodation amid COVID-19 and possible delays in the postal service.
"As the primary manager of the electoral process and protector of public health, states have an obligation to protect the constitutional right to vote for every citizen while ensuring that that right can be safely exercised," they write, according to The Hill.
