Democrats flip their first Senate seat when John Hickenlooper was planning to beat Cory Gardner

The nation's most vulnerable Republican Senator has lost when John Hickenlooper is set to defeat Sen. Cory Gardner.

Fox News named the race for Hickenlooper:

The pickup of the Colorado seat was expected as no incumbent outside of Senator Doug Jones, Alabama, was seen as more vulnerable than Gardner. Sen. Gardner tied Trump on the hip as his only hope of re-election was hoping Trump could do just well enough to drag him into a second term.

Garner is toast, and the Democratic road to retaking the Senate has taken its first step.
