Youngest member of Congress, Madison Cawthorn, says he might be within the elections on Jan. 6

North Carolina Republican Congressman-elected Madison Cawthorn, who is said to be the youngest youngest member of Congress, will contest the results of the electoral college on Jan. 6.

Cawthorn: “I’ll fight!”

At Turning Point USA’s annual Student Action Summit in Florida, Cawthorn announced that he would be contesting Electoral College results on January 6, to cheers from the crowd and chants of “USA!”

“I’ve studied our constitution. It is said that state lawmakers are the only body that can change the electoral law in their own states, ”Cawthorn said, explaining his logic to the crowd. He noted that “swing liberal states” “broke the law” by changing the electoral law through the executive mandate.

If I don’t do this to help my Washington career, it will most likely hurt. But nobody should go to Washington for work. Go there to serve the people. And on behalf of the people, I am contesting this election because of key state violations of the constitution. pic.twitter.com/puDmUZAbaw

New congressman joins a growing list of Republicans

Cawthorn stated that any Republican who was not on the record now “to demand fair, free and just elections now and in the future” would face a primary challenge, which he self-financed.

“The Republican Party has been the no-party for far too long. They always admitted things. They let God out of our schools, they let socialism creep into our country. When I look in that crowd, I see the new Republican Party, ”Cawthorn told the young Conservative audience.
