Home points a direct COVID-19 cost invoice for $ 2,000

The House passed a bill to increase direct survival check payments to individuals in its COVID-19 auxiliary bill from $ 600 to $ 2,000 275-134 votes. The bill had to get a 2/3 vote in support to pass Monday with suspension of the rules. If it hadn’t passed, the democratic leadership would have had to send the bill to the ground under regular orders from the Regulatory Committee, a process they could possibly start but luckily didn’t have to now.

This puts more pressure on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to get the bill earlier in the Senate.
