Kamala Harris hit social media over the weekend to post a video celebrating the Kwanza holiday, but it didn’t take long for this to explode on her face as she was beaten up over shameless political argument.
Kamala Harris’ Kwanzaa Video
In her video, Harris claimed that she grew up with Kwanzaa and that “several generations” of her family also celebrated the African holiday, which was first celebrated in 1966. Here’s what she had to say:
“You know, my sister and I, we grew up with Kwanzaa. Every year our family – and our extended family – would come together for generations and tell stories.
The children would sit on the carpet and the elders would sit on chairs and we would light the candles and of course have a nice meal afterwards. And of course there was always the discussion of the seven principles. And my favorite, I have to tell you, was always the one about self-determination, Kujichagulia. “
“And basically it’s about being and doing. Be the person you want to be and do the things you want to do and do the things that need to be done. The point is not to let anyone write our future for us, but to write it for ourselves.
And this principle motivates me today as we face the challenges of our country and want to build a better future for all Americans. So to everyone celebrating, Happy Kwanzaa from our family to yours. “

Harris met with game
That immediately failed when social media users toasted the video, accusing Harris of the stark political flick.
“Could be the most epic pandering I’ve ever seen from a politician,” commented one user, and another added, “Somehow I find it hard to believe that she has a deep childish bond with a vacation that wasn’t then gave was born. “

“[T]It’s such an obvious lie. She was born in 1964. Kwanzaa was founded in 1966. It only caught on in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is incredibly unlikely that her entire family would devote herself to this in her childhood … she is a liar, ”wrote a third user.

A fourth tweet read: “We Jamaicans don’t celebrate Kwanzaa. Being the first generation myself, I’m confused about how to celebrate with multiple generations. This is such a bogus post, I understand its intentional but please don’t be wrong about it. Just say happy kwanzaa. “
“Given that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 and Harris was born in 1964, I very much doubt that her family would have celebrated the holiday” for generations, “commented someone else. “This just comes off as another of their lame attempts at sounding human and being in touch with the average voter.”
Nice try Kamala but it looks like this is another mistake for you!
