Meghan McCain stands up for Trump voters when she returns to “The View”.

Meghan McCain returned to ABC talk show “The View” for the first time since her daughter was born in September on Monday, and she wasted no time telling her liberal counterparts that Americans need to be more respectful of those who care for Donald voted Trump this past election.

Meghan McCain defends Trump supporters

Despite being an outspoken never-Trump Republican herself, McCain is still concerned about how Trump voters are treated by the media. She specifically questioned a comment her cohost Sunny Hostin had recently made suggesting that Trump attempted a “coup”.

“I think rhetoric is dangerous. … There will be no martial law, things like that just scare people, “McCain said.

“Media rhetoric needs to be more respectful of Trump voters, and I think that’s how we got to this place first,” she added. “I think we have to respect the 70 million Americans in 2021 who, for some reason, did not feel they could pull the trigger in good faith for a President Biden and a Vice-President Harris.”

McCain didn’t stop there, going on to say that she “knew people who voted quietly for Trump” for fear of being embarrassed.

“That doesn’t want to be yelled at, that doesn’t want to be called racist,” said McCain. “The choice shouldn’t have been so tight.”

McCain’s liberal cohosts fire back

Her cohost Whoopi Goldberg replied that Trump supporters must also treat Joe Biden and his supporters with respect.

“Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose,” said Goldberg. “We lost four years ago, now he lost this year. You are not allowed to kvetch and poop everywhere. This is not the American way. “

This came after McCain’s super-liberal cohost Joy Behar tried to shame Trump’s supporters immediately after the election.

“Many people in this country need to have a moment where they come to Jesus and look in the mirror and see what they have done,” said Behar.

“Again, we don’t give names, but look in the mirror and say, ‘Did I vote because of my paperback and ignore the fact that children are separated from their parents? Did I vote because I don’t want black people to move to the suburbs and ignore the fact that black people in this country are always behind the eight ball and can’t put a leg up because of my vote? ‘”, Added her. “People have to look in the mirror.”
