Tara Reade, Joe Biden’s former aide who accused him of sexually assaulting her, came back this week and said that it was “incredibly difficult” for her to watch him take office.
Reade reappears to discuss the initiation
“It was unbearable on so many levels to be molested and assaulted in 1993 when I was a Joe Biden’s associate,” Reade told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Biden used his power and resources with certain media to obliterate and silence me.”
“I am in solidarity with all survivors who encounter such power,” she added. “I am not being silenced. Instead of talking about saving the soul of the country, he should be held accountable for his actions. The hard part is that I believe in a lot of policies that will evolve as I am a progressive independent, but it’s indescribably difficult to watch the man who attacked me take on the most powerful position in the country. “

On Thursday, Reade released another statement on the inauguration to Fox News.
“Yesterday was extremely difficult on many levels because the media and certain media made it so clear that I should be smeared, ignored and erased. And that was pretty successful, ”said Reade.
“To see this powerful man I worked for, who I admired when I first worked for him and who was later horrified by what he did to watch him rise to the most powerful job in the world. I can’t really describe the feeling unless I keep wanting to wake up from a nightmare, ”she continued.
“The Democratic Party continues to be involved in sexual misconduct. It’ll only shed light on it if it’s a Republican or someone else, ”added Reade. “And until sexual misconduct is seen as impartial, the institutionalized culture of rape will persist and powerful men will continue to be able to commit crimes. And not just get away with it, but be rewarded with more strength. “

Reade tweets about inauguration
Reade also went to Twitter on the day of inauguration to worry about Biden taking office.
“Today is another difficult day for survivors of sexual violence,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “While I’m grateful that Trump was defeated, the man who attacked me as our president is still terribly painful. I’m going to be sharing resources for survivors for # Inauguration2021 today. “

Back in March, Reade had accused Biden of pressing her against a wall and penetrating her with his fingers without her consent when she was working for him in 1993.
“I’m sorry that I am politically impractical, but my perpetrator was Joe Biden,” Reade said in late April. “And people have to deal with it.”
