“Today is also three weeks since the uprising against the US Capitol and against our democracy,” wrote Pelosi, according to The Hill. “I urge all members to use this time to write your January 6th story.”

“I also hope that you have used the trauma and resilience resources of the Office of Employee Assistance, and I encourage you to do so when you have not. Members have told me they found these resources useful, ”she added.

Pelosi led the indictment in the house, charging Donald Trump a second time for allegedly instigating the unrest in the Capitol. Impeachment proceedings against the Senate are due to take place on February 8th. If he is charged there, he will not be allowed to run again for office.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has described the riots at the Capitol as “a pretty traumatic event” and even said that she thought she would “die” at some point. She has also indicated that she will be given counseling to deal with the trauma she allegedly suffered during that event.

Pelosi claims that they work “for the people”

Pelosi concluded her letter with some encouraging words for her Democratic counterparts, claiming that the work they are doing is “for the people.”

“As we continue our work for the people, we must do it prayerfully, solemnly, and courageously,” wrote Pelosi.

Pelosi has previously said that she is “not concerned” that the charges against Trump will undermine the unity message that President Joe Biden is alleged to be promoting.

“No, I’m not worried about that,” said Pelosi. The fact is that the President of the United States committed an act of incitement to insurrection. I don’t think there is much agreement to say, “Oh, let’s just forget about it and move on.”
