FEC experiences point out that Maxine Waters paid her daughter $ 1 million in marketing campaign funds

MP Maxine Waters paid her daughter more than $ 1 million in campaign money, according to reports from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Karen Waters has reportedly received over $ 1.1 million from her mother’s election campaign, up from $ 250,000 in the last election cycle alone.

The younger Waters was paid for slate mailing services, an infrequently used operation where a consultancy produces flyers or brochures listing candidates and political platforms and “advises” voters on how to vote.

The efforts are so rare that Waters (D-CA) is the only federal politician deploying them.

Fox News reports that since 2003, over 160 payments have been forwarded to their daughter from Rep. Waters’ campaign account.

Fox News reports, “Waters’ daughter isn’t the only family member who has benefited from her time in Congressional campaigns.”

You cite a 2004 Los Angeles Times report that found that various members of the Democrat’s family have received over $ 1 million over the past eight years.

“They do their business and I do mine,” Waters told the newspaper at the time. “We’re not bad people.”

Maxine Waters being caught paying her daughter with campaign funds is nothing new, especially if she also got involved in the banking scandal with her husband, but she’s on the finance committee as chairman?

Ethically challenged

In 2018, Maxine Waters was hit by an FEC complaint about the slate mailers who enriched her daughter because other politicians allegedly paid her to be included in the brochures.

Rep. Waters had reportedly raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to add names of other state officials to the mailers.

Described by LA Weekly as “sleaze,” these mailers resemble an “official ballot” with quotes from Waters explaining their support.

Maxine Waters paid her daughter $ 25,000 for slate management fees, but the actual mailer was just over $ 4,000. Corruption at its best. # VoteNavarro🇺🇸

Waters was named “one of the most corrupt members of Congress” by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington in 2011.

Ethical concerns first arose in a case where $ 12 million in bailouts were transferred to a bank that her husband was on the board of directors.

Waters reportedly used her position as a member of Congress and a member of the House Financial Services Committee to pressure tax officials to meet with OneUnited Bank, a financial institution where her husband held stock options.

A Congressional investigation found that its chief of staff, Mikael Moore, had taken steps to help the bank and was in breach of House standards of conduct.

In 2013, Fox News host Tucker Carlson asked how Waters owns a 6,000-square-foot mansion valued at $ 4.3 million for a congressional salary.

Waters’ financial gains through sketchy means have been an open secret for some time.

Your family will benefit greatly.

She is currently chair of the US House Committee on Financial Services.
