President Biden has received support for his stimulus plan from Republican mayors and governors, who say Biden speaks to them more than Trump has ever spoken before.
The Washington Post reported:
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez (R) later told reporters from the podium in the White House briefing room that he had spoken more to Biden and Vice President Harris in the first few weeks of their tenure than to the previous administration as a whole. ”
Biden said he took the group to the White House to ask, “What do you think they need most?”
The mainstream media incorrectly assumed that Biden was referring to working with Republicans in Congress when he talked about building bipartisanism. President Biden is building bipartisanship with Republican voters and local and state officials.
Biden cleverly bypassed the Republicans in Congress. The president has given them the opportunity to be bipartisan, but has not been held hostage or slowed down by their obstructive games. Joe Biden understands that the presidency is about doing things for the American people.
He reaches out to Republican officials in ways Trump never did. Donald Trump’s neglect resulted in presidency atrophy in many ways, but Joe Biden lays the groundwork for a new era of collaboration and listening on Trump’s scorched earth policy.
