That day at Daily Kos in 2012– Orrin Hatch claims abortion is 95 percent of what planned parenting does:

Sen. Orrin Hatch is an old-school hardcore conservative. For much of recent history he was considered a conservative representative of the Senate. However, that’s not good enough for modern conservatism, which assumes it is so utterly regressive that Ronald Reagan looks like a communist by comparison, traitor to the cause.

What statements like this could explain from Hatch::

Look, we all know Planned Parenthood has 400,000 abortions a year or more and this is still supported by the federal government. They claim money isn’t, um, they don’t use federal funds. Well, as I understand it, 95 percent of everything they do is abortion.

Oh! In the Senate’s playbook we call this “Pulling a Kyl”. Last year Senator Jon Kyl declared in the Senate that abortion was “well over 90 percent of what planned parenting does.” It was a claim so blatantly and deeply false that his office could do nothing but issue a now famous press statement that his claim “was not meant to be a factual statement”. Then, after becoming a national ridicule (well, more anyway), Kyl “revised” his remarks in the Congressional report to erase the claim you can make if you are a senator and the senators believe they are Tissue of spacetime changes so that this thing has never happened before.
