The House of Representatives is ready to pass the so-called Equal Opportunities Act on Thursday, a law that proponents believe prohibits discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity.
Conservatives, however, argue that the bill would introduce discrimination against religious beliefs while grossly undermining women’s rights.
President Biden has expressed his support for the Equal Opportunities Act as one of his top priorities in legislation.
“I urge Congress to swiftly pass this historic piece of legislation,” he wrote after the Democrats passed the law.
“Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, and this bill is a critical step in ensuring America lives up to our core values of equality and freedom for all.”
(Thread 1/2): I met @TuckerCarlson on @FoxNews tonight to discuss the Equality Act. I’ve seen less scientific rejection from @FlatEarthOrg than from the identity-obsessed #Democrats. pic.twitter.com/CUra8O9xMb

What is the Equal Opportunities Act really about?
Leftists have actively launched the Equal Opportunities Act to change existing federal civil rights laws and expand protection for LGBTQ Americans.

“As well as [a business] would not be able to turn someone away for any other reason prohibited by law, nor would they be able to do so for LGBTQ people, ”said Ian Thompson, senior legislator at the ACLU.
The law would apply nationwide, replacing the laws of states that do not have LGBTQ regulations, and would cover other areas such as education, housing, and healthcare.
The bill would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act, primarily designed to combat racism, to add sexual orientation and “gender identity” as protected classes.
The law is controversial to people on all sides of the aisle as a barely veiled attack on religious rights and the rights of women.
We have to rule what is right, not how people feel.

Ryan Anderson, president of the Conservative Center for Ethics and Public Order, writes that the equality law “poses a threat to women’s rights and conscience.”
Anderson describes the bill as “a sword used to persecute those who do not advocate new gender ideologies” and “sacrifice the hard-won rights of women while privileging men who identify as women”.
The so-called Equal Opportunities Act forces girls to share changing rooms with boys, destroys girls’s sport, takes children away from their parents and forces doctors to perform taxpayer-funded abortions.

Newsweek ran several columns in which it argued against the Equality Act as an attack on “freedom and truth” and “the end of” women “”.
“Our laws have been careful for decades to ensure equality between men and women by banning gender discrimination and recognizing the equal dignity of men and women and the biological differences inherent in gendered bodies,” writes Mary Rice Hasson , a lawyer.
“The Equal Opportunities Act jeopardizes all of this and more.”

Natasha Chart, chairwoman of the Women’s Liberation Front, and Rabbi Yaakov Menken, executive director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, wrote a joint comment on the topic of the Equal Opportunities Act.
“We fully agree that the equality law is a deadly flawed and even hateful piece of legislation,” they reveal.
The Equal Opportunities Act has nothing to do with equality. It’s a smoke screen to force Americans to accept the LGBTQ agenda, and it creates a lot of inequality for people of faith. It punishes people and organizations who disagree because of their moral convictions. https://t.co/vJPG5Jy3jD

Even NBC News published a column in which Rabbi Avi Shafran, director of public affairs at Agudath Israel of America, argues that the equality law will undermine religious freedom.
Shafran points out that the law goes too far “by cutting off appeal channels for penalties imposed under the law.”
“The Equal Opportunities Act sends an ugly message,” he complains. “Religion doesn’t matter.”
Today I rose in defense of women, girls and children.
The so-called Equal Opportunities Act must be put down.
This is about the rights of women and girls.
I ask everyone to take a break, consider the effects and vote NO to the so-called “Equal Opportunities Act”. pic.twitter.com/v2jjzru8L6

RELATED: Tulsi Gabbard Beats Democrats for Removing Gendered Language from House Rules
Some people are still trying to protect women
Returning to Hasson’s column, she points out that the Equal Opportunities Act is 31 pages long and never mentions the word “female”.
This move seems deliberate and fully in line with the Democrats who literally removed gender language from official house rules.
The then Democrat Tulsi Gabbard criticized the move, saying: “It is the height of hypocrisy for people who claim to be the advocates of women’s rights to deny the very biological existence of women.”
Now they are trying to codify this denial of biology and science into law.
Tulsi Gabbard breaks the new house rules that free Tucker from “gender-specific language”:

Gabbard introduced laws in the last session that would enforce the application of Title IX on the basis of a person’s biological sex rather than their identified gender.
It is an attempt to stop women athletes from taking chances by allowing biological men to compete in their sport or at their level.
Their legislation was “created out of the recognition that there is a biological distinction between men and women and boys and girls and … therefore, a level playing field must be created for girls and women to compete and play in sport. “She explained.
Science denial also has real implications.
Connecticut high school athlete Alanna Smith, who recently had support for her lawsuit to prevent transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports withdrawn from the Biden administration, expressed disappointment.
“A lot of biological women have failed to do this really important job,” Smith told Fox News. “And the transgender athletes have podium places that belong to biological women.”
“We train so many days a week, so many hours, to be the best in our state and the best in our region and these biological men are just taking it away from us and we really deserve it,” she added.
Members of Congress fight with flags, signs
Meanwhile, MP Marie Newman (D-IL), who has a transgender daughter and advocates for the equality law, placed a blue, pink and white trans rights flag in front of her office to meet MP Marjorie Taylor Greene (R . -GA), who spoke out against the Equal Opportunities Act.
Our neighbor @RepMTG has tried to block the equality law because she considers the ban on discrimination against trans-Americans to be “disgusting, immoral and evil”.

Greene hit back by suggesting that Newman “trust science”.
Our neighbor, @RepMarieNewman, wants to pass the so-called “Equal Opportunities Act” to destroy women’s rights and freedom of religion.

The bill “will put transactional rights above women’s rights,” argued Greene.
This is the exact opposite of equality.
