When former Bush deputy chief of staff Karl Rove appeared on Fox News Thursday night, he explained why he is excited to see former MP Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) running for governor of the state, and that not for the reasons you may think.
Rove calls Beto O’Rourke
Rove pointed out that O’Rourke ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate and Democratic President nomination, so he’s likely to lose again for Texas governor.
“He’s planned to run for governor last year,” said Rove. “And he was the captain responsible for registering Democratic voters and finishing the voting effort.”
“They released an autopsy report this week saying we don’t know how or why, but we lost the voter registration battle to the Republicans who registered us by at least 88,000 and we have voting efforts lost. ” he added.
“They expected that they would win the Senate race, that they could carry the state for Biden, that they would get at least three and maybe even seven seats in the Republican Congress,” he added.

“You have zero,” said Rove. “They expected to take over the Texas House of Representatives and were making absolutely no profits. You lost the race in the Senate by double digits. The president won with a comfortable re-election. “
“That was the hands-on work of Robert Francis O’Rourke. How do you reward that?” Rove continued. “You say we’ll take him to the governor. God. The Texas Democrats cannot pull themselves together. “

“I look forward to seeing Robert Francis O’Rourke out on the field because he’s been out there about a year and a half since he lost his grim race for the presidency. You know, nothing is as successful for him as failure for him. “

Rove speaks Trump
In the same interview, Rove voiced fears that Trump might use his CPAC speech this weekend to re-claim that his election was stolen.
“His last two speeches on January 5th and January 6th would indicate that at that point in time he was – ‘I’m angry. I was defeated. The election was stolen from me. I got 74 million votes, but it was stolen from me. People in my party who are very weak. I’ll punish them and go after other Republicans. I will declare civil war. If you are not with me, you are against me and I will defeat you, ”said Rove. “That wasn’t a particularly good tone.”
Rove continued, “If Trump goes down this path again,” it will be a very difficult recovery. “
