E. Jean Carroll is prepared for her day in court docket with Donald Trump: “I give it some thought day by day.”

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that these were Supreme Court judges and not mob assets on the Trump payroll. This paved the way for the disclosure of the tax returns that Trump jealously guarded as Jeffrey Dahmer guarded his refrigerator. Soon after, this funny little Reuters story fell into my lap.

Author and journalist E. Jean Carroll has been waiting for her day in court since Trump’s legal team argued that the former president was too heavily encumbered with critical papers (such as filet-o-fish packaging) to be sued. And she hopes that day will come soon.

Her lawyers are trying to oust Trump on a defamation lawsuit that Carroll filed against the former president in November 2019 after denying her allegations that he raped her in a Manhattan department store in the mid-1990s. Trump said he never knew Carroll and accused her of lying to sell her new book, adding, “She’s not my type.” […]

“I live for the moment to go into this room and sit across from it,” Carroll told Reuters in an interview. “I think about it every day.”

I can’t say that I think about Carroll’s case every day; There are plenty of cars on the trailer to focus on. But given Trump’s aggressive misogyny and widespread sociopathy, a decision against him in this particular lawsuit would be pretty sweet.

Carroll attorney Roberta Kaplan is confident the case will move forward after the ocher commander in chief is kicked out of his throne room. “I think there will be a feeling among the judges that it is time to move forward on these cases,” Kaplan told Reuters.

Oh, and in case you forgot, there is likely DNA.

When Carroll filed her lawsuit later in 2019, her attorney Kaplan had a security guard escort the dress to her closet for forensic testing. Analysis revealed that no semen was found on the dress, but DNA from an unidentified man was found on the shoulder and sleeves, according to a laboratory report dated Jan. 8, 2020, verified by Reuters.

Isn’t that interesting?

Of course, Carroll isn’t the only one suing Trump for defamation for one of his serial sexual assault denials. Summer Zervos, a former The Apprentice candidate who accused Trump of sexual assault in 2016, is also waiting in the wings.

Let’s hope Trump sees his own 500 days of summer. And from Carroll. And from the southern borough of New York.

Now that he’s no longer pretending to be president, he should have plenty of time to face the music / cacophony.
