Trump was served in Mar-a-Lago with a lawsuit by the NAACP and MP Bennie Thompson for violating civil rights during the Capitol attack.
The Daily Beast reported, “Rep. Bennie Thompson’s (D-MS) attorneys and the NAACP filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club in February. Trump advisors did not immediately comment on who, if any, is representing the former president for this lawsuit at this point. When Trump was served, he was only signed by a ‘Ricky’ according to the court document. “
It is fitting that the paperwork was signed by a guy named Ricky in Mar-a-Lago.
The lawsuit alleges that Trump, Rudy Giuliani, The Proud Boys and The Oathkeeps violated the Klan Act of 1871, which allows members of Congress to sue people who conspired to forcibly dismiss an officer “Harass, interrupt, hinder, or impede” tasks. The lawsuit in which Trump was accused of having published a gun call on January 6, 2021 and instigating the attack on the Capitol.
There will likely be more criminal charges in response to the attack. As more information becomes available, it will be apparent that the Trump administration actively blocked National Guard support during the attack.
Donald Trump’s legal problems are increasing day by day.
