Biden simply delivered what Republicans worry most. To hope.

President Biden marked the upcoming 100 millionth dose of coronavirus to be administered and delivered a message of hope for the future.

President Biden said:

When Vice President Harris and I were on a virtual tour of a vaccination center in Arizona recently, one of the nurses on that tour, who injected people and gave vaccinations, said that every shot was like a dose of hope, a dose of hope. That’s how she put it. Behind those 100 million shots are millions of lives that changed when people received that dose of hope.

Grandparents can hug their grandchildren again. Frontline workers who can show up at their workplaces without the same fear they used to have. Teachers with the confidence to go back to the classroom. These milestones are significant achievements. But we have a lot more to do, a lot more to do. And the American rescue plan will help us with that. In addition to cash payments to you and your families, funding will be provided to add vaccines, deliver more vaccinations to the community – support more community vaccination centers and increase the number of tests. This will help us accelerate nationwide efforts to safely reopen our schools. And as I told the nation last week, I have directed all states, tribes, and territories to qualify all adults for a vaccination no later than May 1st. I am glad to see several states are already taking this step to question more and more Americans, before May 1st. Tomorrow we will reach 100 million doses that our administration has given. I’ve always said that’s just the bottom. We won’t stop until we beat this pandemic.

Republicans need people who get down, depressed, and discouraged. They base their entire electoral strategy on electoral anger at Biden’s presidency.

Few in the expert class ask a much more relevant question. What if the voters are not angry? When the economy is back, the coronavirus pandemic is defeated, and Americans are happy for the first time in years, what will Republicans do?

Hope is bad for Republicans, but with renewed success, President Biden and the Democratic Party are bringing hope that could cause Republicans to fail next November.
