Manhattan Attorney Cyrus Vance has reached the point of his investigation where he will produce witnesses who can explain why a conviction should be made.
About Vanity Fair:
Over the past few months, the prosecutor has brought in the attorney who put John Gotti and other white-collar criminals behind bars, reportedly worked to flip the Trump Organization’s longtime CFO, and most importantly, received Trump’s coveted tax return, documents that the Queens born real estate developer has gone to such extreme lengths to keep it a secret that some people believe it contains extremely incriminating information.
Now, Vance’s office has taken the next step in its criminal investigation: finding people who can explain to a jury why Trump is a possible crook.
The prosecution deals with bankers, accountants and real estate consultants, all of whom work or have worked for outside companies in Trump’s business relationships. Prosecutors are looking for witnesses who have firsthand experience of Trump deals and can explain what is on the filing and why it is illegal to a jury to do.
The notion that Trump will skate over the potential banking and tax fraud charges he is almost certain to face is becoming less likely every day.
Prosecutors appear to have evidence against Trump. They have gathered witnesses who can help them prove their case in court, potentially turning Donald Trump into a convicted criminal.
