Joe Scarborough defeats Jim Jordan for spreading lies and conspiracy theories about Dr. Anthony Fauci

MSNBC expert Joe Scarborough spoke on “Morning Joe” this morning and criticized Rep Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for spreading lies and conspiracy theories about Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s leading infectious disease expert amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Scarborough’s comments followed Jordan’s controversial behavior during A Coronavirus Subcommittee on Crisis hearing challenging Fauci for social distancing and precautions against wearing masks to contain the spread of Covid-19.

“It’s so personal and it’s really personal. you lied Dr. Fauci. They have conspiracy theories about Dr. Fauci spreads. You said the most absurd things. It’s personal, ”said Scarborough.

“They are trying to attack the messenger who warned them while lying through their teeth to the American people who warned that many people might die,” he continued. “And a year ago they kept saying: ‘Open things up’, ‘everything is fine’, ‘what is that? No worse than the flu. ‘Not worse – over 550,000 people are dead. And the lies continue. The scapegoat continues. “

Scarborough also noted that “Lies about Anthony Fauci always got clicks. Conspiracy theories always got clicks, ”a stab at the click-based messaging model that has been accused of living on conflict and conspiracy theories.

“It’s all full of lies, and yet people are stupid enough to believe it. And so Jim Jordan makes these lies. And it is believed that Anthony Fauci is somehow the problem, rather than a coronavirus that has spread across America and killed 550,000 people, “he said.

During the hearing, Jordan accused Fauci of prolonging the pandemic and restricting personal freedoms.

“We had 15 days to slow the spread and turn into a year of lost freedom. Which metrics, which measures? What has to happen before Americans get more freedom? “Jordan asked Fauci, before claiming that the personal “Your right to go to church, your right of assembly, your right to petition your government, freedom of the press and freedom of expression have all been attacked due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Fauci disagreed. “I think you’re making this a personal thing and it’s not,” Fauci told Jordan.

Hearing clips went viral after Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) Urged Jordan not to derail the hearing and suspend Chairman Jim Clyburn (DS.C.).

“Your time is up, sir. You have to respect the chair and shut up, ”she told him.
