DNC is focusing on 20 (!) Potential GOP opponents for 2024 with new opposition analysis

The Democrat National Committee (DNC) has begun collecting opposition research – commonly known as “Oppo” – about 20 possible 2024 GOP presidential candidates.

The Hill reports that research isn’t limited to just likely competitors. Some “Reach” candidates are also on the list.

Some of those whose names have been mentioned as possible contenders are conventional wisdom, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, but several other unusual names have surfaced as well.

The DNC is also digging up dirt on Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson and MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell, who is an avid Donald Trump supporter.

The opposing team could even have 49 possible competitors. The DNC research department currently consists of around 25 employees, but is planning a total of 50 employees.

2024 Operations started just a few weeks after the inauguration

According to Politico, the Oppo team for Biden’s re-election was formed just weeks after President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

While the group behind the effort may not be a household name to most readers, they are all powerful democratic activists.

Research director Nick Bauer is at the head of the team. The group also includes Caroline Graham and Austin Dieter, who are considered first-class opponents.

Other names include DNC political director Alana Mounce, former Biden deputy campaign manager Pete Kavanaugh, and Jen O’Malley Dillon, who was Joe Biden’s campaign manager in 2020, runs the entire show.

If Trump doesn’t run …

I would love to see a Scott / DeSantis ticket in 2024. Joe Biden can’t win a debate against a conservative black man. It goes against the entire platform of the DNC. Not to mention any racist policies Biden signed as a senator would haunt him.

An easy win 🇺🇸

Who is on the DNC radar?

The DNC plays their cards near the vest and doesn’t release much information on who they might be looking at, but the biggest names are all pretty clear.

The list of possible candidates includes DeSantis and Haley, but could include several other governors such as Greg Abbott from Texas and Kristi Noem from South Dakota.

The list of opportunities goes flush with Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Tim Scott (R-SC).

Then there are other options like former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former Vice President Mike Pence.

The big question mark in the room is, of course, former President Donald Trump.

He recently appeared with Candace Owens, host of the Daily Wire Talk Show. When asked if he would run again, Trump said he was “absolutely thrilled” with another campaign. He added, “But I think people will be very, very happy if I make a certain announcement.”

The plan for Democrats

The strategy for Democrats could be in the air as well as that of Republicans. At the age of 78, Joe Biden announced that he would run for re-election in 2024. Biden announced this at the end of March, citing that “fate” could interfere with his plans for re-election.

The Hill describes a situation in which potential presidential candidates for younger candidates, even those of Vice President Kamala Harris, are being put on hold. But even before his victory in 2020, questions about Biden’s age and health were the subject of debate.

There are arguments on both sides as to whether Biden is seeking a different term in office.

Mark Longabough, a Democratic Campaign activist, described the position of anyone contemplating a Democratic run for the White House in 2024 as follows: “There is still much work to be done to position yourself without explaining.”
