The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union, which represents many food workers, is… not pleased with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines that allow vaccinated people to be exposed indoors. After all, food and retail workers have quarreled along with people who rejected rules on masks, and it is now guaranteed that they will face people who may be lying about the vaccination. The instructions for the honor system do not take these workers into account.
“Millions of Americans are doing the right thing and getting vaccinated, but key workers are still being forced to play masked police for shoppers who are not vaccinated and who refuse to follow local COVID safety measures. Are you supposed to be the vaccination police now? “UFCW President Marc Perrone said in a statement. “With so many states ending their mask mandates, this new CDC guidance needs to do more to recognize the real, daily challenge that these workers and the American people still face.”
