Conservatives aren’t impressed with the efficiency of the Trump Supreme Courtroom justices

The honeymoon between social conservatives and the newest members of the United States Supreme Court appointed by former President Donald Trump may be over.

Axios points out an anecdote that makes the subject vivid: Former Vice President Mike Pence spoke at the annual Family Leadership Summit, a leading socially conservative organization in the important state of Iowa.

Pence extolled the Trump administration’s track record of appointing conservative judges at all levels.

“We have more than 300 Conservatives in our federal courts at all levels, including Judge Neil Gorsuch, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, and Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Isn’t she something? “

What he got from the audience were crickets.

Socially conservative not impressed

With the appointment of Judge Amy Coney Barrett after Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death last fall, Conservatives were thrilled that the nation’s highest court would be a right-wing court – at least they thought.

Bob Vander Plaats, President and CEO of The Family Leader, said in an interview with Fox News that he was not surprised by the “golf clap” that Vice President Pence received at the mention of Supreme Court justices.

He said, “I think they were less than happy with Kavanaugh and even Amy Coney Barrett.” He added,

“What I think you’ve seen is that if we get the Supreme Court, if we get the judges, watch out, they’ll rule with the Constitution, the original intent, is way too promising.”

The SCOTUS judges Alito & Thomas are already publicly warning the Conservatives that Barrett & Kavanaugh “do not have the strength” and “are not prepared to accept the criticism” that will come with conservative decisions.

Some questionable choices

Among some of the decisions from the recent session that disappointed Conservatives, the court failed to put one final nail in the coffin of ObamaCare, something that has been the GOP’s target for some time.

The court also delved into transgender rights, ruling in favor of a transgender student who wanted to choose his bathroom.

Perhaps the ultimate sting on the Conservatives, the court dismissed a Texas state lawsuit in December to discard election results in four states that changed electoral laws by governors or bureaucrats instead of state legislatures as required by the constitution .

Without commenting on the possibility of electoral fraud or the legitimacy of the election, the court simply said that Texas had no authority to start the case.

President Trump himself has also expressed his displeasure. During an interview with Real America’s Voice Network, he said, “I am very disappointed. I fought very hard for them, but I was very disappointed with some of their decisions. “

In fairness, the dish got some good marks. In a free speech case, the court ruled that a school shouldn’t blame a cheerleader for using off-campus profanity. It also upheld the Arizona practice of disqualifying ballots cast in the wrong district, even if they were accidentally cast.

But the court appeared to be discussing yet another case involving religious rights and same-sex couples. Barronelle Stutzman is a Christian florist based in Washington state. She has been fighting for her religious rights for a decade because she refuses to deliver flowers for a same-sex couple’s wedding because it goes against her religious beliefs.

After the Washington Supreme Court ruled twice against her, the Supreme Court refused to hear her case and protect her rights.

How often did Conservative judges join Liberals during this Supreme Court tenure?

Kavanaugh 85%
Barrett 70%
Roberts 69%
Gorsuch 62%
Thomas 46%
Alito 23%

Liberals trying to catch up

To ensure that the court is not lost to Conservatives for a generation, Liberals and progressives have put pressure on Judge Stephen Breyer to step down. After Ginsburg’s death, Breyer became the senior liberal judge on the court.

Clinton-appointed Breyer has been a member of the court for 27 years and will turn 83 in August. There are even Democratic Congressmen who have called on Breyer to resign so that President Joe Biden can appoint a younger, possibly more liberal, judge to the court.

To the horror of the left, however, Breyer says he has no plans to resign.
