Left protesters shut GOP press convention in entrance of the Justice Division

Several Republican Congressmen had their own press conference and rally outside the Justice Department on Tuesday, which was closed by aggressive left-wing protesters.

The press conference and rally were held by Reps Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Bob Good (R-VA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ.) ) were in the DOJ building to protest the treatment of the Capitol defendants on January 6th.

The detainees’ lawyers say their clients are not treated humanely, many of them being held in solitary confinement for up to 23 hours a day.

The heckling started almost immediately at the event:

No response from the US Attorney General

Lawmakers said they had sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland regarding their concerns about those held in connection with the January 6 protests. They say that not only did Garland fail to reply to the letter, but they were also denied access to the DOJ building to address him personally.

Part of the letter described the defendants’ treatment as “abuses of political prisoners in tyrannical third world countries”.

One of the defendants alleged that he was brutally beaten by a DC police officer, lost sight in one eye, suffered a fractured skull and detached retina.

The officer was acquitted of any wrongdoing.

Before anyone thinks the issue is biased, even progressive leaders like Elizabeth Warren have spoken of the harsh sentence that will be imposed on the defendants.

Response from the tolerant left

When the press conference began and members of the Republican House of Representatives demanded a status report on those arrested and imprisoned on January 6 who they called “political prisoners”, left-wing protesters surrounded them with signs, whistles and shouts to drown out what had been said.

Firebrand Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene was not impressed by the protest. She turned to a man who blows a whistle: “To the guy who whistles: We will not be put off.” She added:

“And for anyone here who is an activist and yelling today, here is the statement that everyone needs to understand: We will not give in, we will not stop asking questions, we are looking for the truth. And we believe that the truth can be found by asking the right people the right questions, answering them, and asking them the right questions. “

An attempt to hold a press conference on insurgent treatment by Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz & Comp. was closed when it started by protesters.

These people create “good trouble,” as John Lewis would say. They are heroes and we thank you.🙏 # DemVoice1 pic.twitter.com/pcYJXxXW2V

The left-wing protesters held up signs reading “Traitors and rapists sit up” and “Pedophiles for Trump,” according to the Daily Caller.

The heckling became so intense that the press conference was canceled:
