AOC refuses to disclose whether or not it is going to problem Schumer for the Senate seat – “I am not commenting”

MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Monday that she will not reveal whether or not she intends to challenge Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for his Senate seat next year.

AOC addresses Senate run

“I know it drives everyone crazy, but the way I really think about it and really approach my politics and my political career is that I don’t look at things and do not position my course,” Ocasio-Cortez said opposite CNN.

“And I know there are a lot of people who don’t believe that. But I really – I cannot act as I operate and do in politics while trying to pursue other things or do other math, ”she added. “I’m not commenting on that.”

When asked about this in January, Ocasio-Cortez said something similar.

“[I am] very much in a place where I try to decide what I can do most effectively to support our Congress, our [political] Process, and our country is actually dealing with the issues of climate change, health care, wage inequality, etc., ”she said, according to The Hill.

AOC will not look to the future

Ocasio-Cortez has reportedly pressured Schumer to go further to the left in his policies. She also said this week that looking ahead would affect her ability to do her current job.

“I struggle with it because I don’t want little girls to watch or lose sight of anything like that. But I think if that were within my ambitions it would take my courage today, ”said Ocasio-Cortez.

“I think what happens a lot in politics is that people are so motivated to run for certain higher offices that they compromise today when they fight for people,” she added. “And the idea is that it will be easier for you to run for higher office later when you can be that clean or blank of a slate.”
